Responding to the increasing volume of attacks by Viet Cong, South Vietnamese National Assembly authorizes tribunals to use the death penalty on terrorists and other destructive persons
1961
General Lyman Lemnitzer states that JFK was ready to do anything within reason to save Southeast Asia.
1965
South Vietnamese Armed Forces Council dissolved and left Prime Minister Quat. in control
1966
General Westmoreland is told by Premier Ky that Buddhist leaders were suspected of contacting the Viet Cong and that the Buddhist Struggle Movement pretty much had control of the northern provinces of South Vietnam.
