This timeline is meant to keep track of what was both happening on the battlefield and at home in the USA during the Vietnam war.


The CIA was told by a South Vietnamese official that the government was to most likely lose control of the Ca Mau Peninsula


ARVN Soldiers poured liquid chemicals from tear gas grenades on top of praying Buddhists. This was later to be known as the Hue Chemical attacks. 67 people were hospitalized due to skin blisters and trouble breathing


The secretive Operation Thunderhead was carried out by SEAL Team One and Underwater Demolition Team. It took place off the coast of North Vietnam and was designed to rescue two american airmen that were escaping from a POW camp in Hanoi. This would be the final US POW rescue mission. Lt Melvin Dry was KIA on this mission, the last SEAL lost during the War.
