This timeline is meant to keep track of what was both happening on the battlefield and at home in the USA during the Vietnam war.

1965

Ho Chi Minh conferences with Mao Zedong in China. Ho Chi Minh said that North Vietnam will carry the majority of the burden of the war themselves. Ho did requested additional Chinese economic and military assistance though. The chinese leader agreed and they set a foundation blueprint for Chinese assistance. NVA was to go to battle with Chinese logistical help. The Chinese were not to intervene with their military unless the USA forces attacked the North.

Chinese helped North Vietnam in 3 ways. Engineers and workers to build and maintain defense works,roads, airfields etc.

Anti-aircraft personnel and military equipment. 160k chinese went to North Vietnam to help them.

1974

Battle of the Iron Triangle launched when the 9th Div PAVN with tank assistance commenced an battle on Rach Bap. They managed to take possession of An Dien and lower to Phu Cuong.
