This timeline is meant to keep track of what was both happening on the battlefield, politically and at home in the USA during the Vietnam war.

1965

Nguyen Cao Ky, an Air Marshall was appointed as Prime Minister. Now that Thieu is Pres and Ky PM the constant change of rulers that was the norm in South Vietnam since November 1963 was over.

1967

The 9th Infantry Division 4th/47th’s won a 23 hour battle against VC on the outskirts of the Mekong Delta.

1973

The Case–Church Amendment was approved which prohibited further U.S. military activity in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia after Aug 15th. This actually finished direct U.S. military contribution in the Vietnam War, in spite of the fact that the U.S. kept on giving military hardware and financial support toward the South Vietnamese government.
