This timeline is meant to keep track of what was both happening on the battlefield, politically and at home in the USA during the Vietnam war.

1960

In an undisclosed location in South Vietnam, North Vietnam officials announce the inauguration of the National Liberation Front. The NFL was designed to duplicate the Viet Minh, an umbrella nationalist group which liberated Vietnam from the colonial era under France. The National Liberation Front target groups were the South Vietnamese citizens who were against President Ngo Diem government and their policies. 100 delegates representing religious groups and political parties were present.

1967

The Battle of Tam Quan finally comes to an end. It began when the United States 1st Brigade, 1st Battalion, 50th Infantry Regiment and the 1st Cavalry Division ambushed the People’s Army of Vietnam which was making preparations to launch a major attack on the Army of the Republic of Vietnam posts in Tam Quan. The battle lasted for 2 weeks before the PAVN were finally subdued.
