This timeline is meant to keep track of what was both happening on the battlefield, politically and at home in the USA during the Vietnam war.

1965

Nguyen Cao Ky, the Premier of South Vietnam announces that the south would never negotiate with the Communists unless the North Vietnamese troops would be pulled back from the South. He additionally said that his administration would establish significant changes to amend the monetary and social wrongdoings going on.

1967

The Joint Chiefs of Staff, extended the allowed targets in the north, approving strikes against bridges, encampments, and rail in the Hanoi Haipong zone and more in the already limited zones along China

1972

Weekly casualties of five dead and three injured are by far the least recorded since record keeping started in Jan of 1965. The numbers mirrored the situation in that there were under 40k American troops left in South Vietnam at this point engaging in combat.
